Wednesday, November 6th

Today was LK's day. We had done all of the shopping that we needed to do that day the day before so today was the first time we didn't make our regular trip to the store in the morning. I must admit, i kinda missed it. Anyways we went directly to the church kitchen where we started to cook. First LK taught us how to make eggs. I thought that I already knew how to, but LK insisted that i didn't. The eggs he made were amazing, though i must say i prefer my mothers eggs still, but that is just my preference. After we made eggs, we moved on to steak. usually when i cook stake i grill it, but LK taught us how to pan sear the steak. I must say it turned out really nicely.

After we cooked breakfast we split up into groups to start on our lunch. My group was responsible for cooking one of the whole chickens as well as a chocolate bunt cake and mac and cheese. i must say mac and cheese is may favorite food ever so i was really excited to make that. we started on the bunt cake first. It was a really old recipe so it called for a bunch of weird stuff like a whole pack of vanilla pudding. it was the first time i had made a cake like this though and i do think it turned out amazing. next we made the whole chicken. This was the most fun because we got to stuff a raw whole chicken, i just thought it was cool. we stuffed it so much it almost exploded but it tasted great. Next was the mac and cheese. i love making mac and cheese from scratch and i do it all the time. this stuff was good, but not great. i personally don't think the recipe called for enough cheese but that is just me. people ate it and it tasted pretty good i guess.

Today i learned how to cook a whole chicken, i had done that before but not on my own like that, also how to make a bunt cake. Everything tasted good and i am so happy to be in this winterum.
